The Erasmus+ “Learn4Carers” 4th transnational project meeting (TPM) took place by teleconference on the 6th and 7thth October 2020 and was coordinated by Eurocarers and Compagnie des Aidants, who are partners on the “Learn4Carers” project. We used the platform Zoom:

The Learn4Carers Project promotes the exchange of good practices for caregivers. It includes five partners coming from four different countries: Greece, Belgium, France and Ireland. In addition, associated partners from Greece, UK, Italy, Belgium and Turkey. Learn4Carersisis the abbreviation of “Learning for Caregivers in Europe” and the Project ID is 2018-1-EL01-KA204-047837.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the transnational project meeting in Paris was cancelled and the meeting had the form of a teleconference. Spyros Zorbas presented the Learn4Carers Gantt Chart.
6.7.2020 – 1st Day
Eurocarers together with partners celebrated the first of its kind European Carers Day, to spotlight the invaluable role of informal carers and their need for support across Europe.
Learn4Carers partners joined an online conversation on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #CarersDay_EU and #WeAreCarers_EU.
The meeting was chaired by Mrs Céline Martinez, from the NGO “La Compagnie des Aidants” and Spyros Zorbas, President of the association Greek Carers Network EPIONI.
Céline Martinez welcomed each of the participants.
After the welcome speeches, each of the project partners made presentations/updates about the work of their organisation, the state of play with respect to family carers in their respective countries and their strategy in relation to the implementation of the project.

Mr Liam O’Sullivan mentioned that they understand that many family carers in Ireland are anxious about the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Care Alliance Ireland in addition to their regular submissions, newsletters, discussion documents
Mr Fokion Dimitriadis shared that EPIONI conducted successful webinars on Depression 28-29.9.2020 & 9.10.2020
To pursue the implementation of the EU directive for Carers in Greece they met with the vice minister of Health on 25.9.2020 and submitted a memo drafted by a lawyer on behalf of EPIONI.
Mr Stecy Yghemonos gave a brief update on Eurocarers work and the current priorities of the organisation within relevant EU institutions and stakeholders. Eurocarers is preparing a toolkit composed of practical information and tips targeted at carers who are in the first line to deal with coronavirus.
